Description

VINCENT ALSOP

Treating Titus 2:10, which exhorts us to “adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things,” Practical Godliness is a call to live each day according to the promises of the gospel and the precepts of the law. It is not enough to confess right doctrine. True faith produces a faithfulness that displays the beauty of Christ in the life of His people. Recognizing that too many professing Christians lose sight of the beauty of holiness and idolize their physical appearance, Alsop appends a sixty-seven-page treatment of modesty, clothing, and fashion titled “The Sinfulness of Strange Apparel.” Would you adorn the doctrines of God? Let this noble Puritan be your guide.

“Our debt of gratitude to Reformation Heritage Books continues to grow for keeping such Puritan treasures as Vincent Alsop’s Practical Godliness in print and available for the church today. Alsop delivers a stirring call to authentic Christian living, a more conscientious sanctification of the Lord’s Day, and a deeper commitment to worshiping God within our families. With piercing insight and pastoral care, Alsop challenges readers to weigh their devotion in the light of God’s Word and to walk with God in humility, holiness, and heartfelt obedience. Rich in Scripture and timeless in wisdom, this classic work is a powerful guide for anyone seeking to live in gratitude for what God has done.”
