—John MacArthur Jr., Pastor-Teacher, Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, California
Here is a powerful expose and rebuttal of the arguments for same-sex marriage which will serve to arm the Christian Church to make battle against the forces seeking to destroy the institution of Biblical marriage. Mark Christopher presents a concise but scholarly book, pregnant with current and relevant material, which will become a tool for leader and layperson alike to understand the issues involved and to use for the defense of marriage.

The book Same Sex Marriage: Is It Really the Same? by Mark Christopher offers a well thought out and researched solid biblical answer to the question that its title raises. In this small volume he does a number of very helpful things. First, he examines and exposits key biblical passages and concepts of what God intended marriage to be. He then proceeds to expose the folly of some of the presuppositions that homosexual proponents and activists raise in support of the normality of homosexuality. I found his discussion of the dangers of thinking that homosexuality is an innocuous and legitimate alternative life style and what he called the cultural creeds that led us to our current destination to be very insightful. In the last section of the book Pastor Christopher provides a very helpful strategy for the church as we face the onslaught of an unbiblical and destructive perspective on marriage and sexuality. After examining Scripture and the strongest arguments that those who want to say that same sex marriage is really the same, the author cogently and convincingly demonstrates that the answer to the question suggested by the title of the book is no they are not the same.
—Dr. Wayne Mack, Bibilcal counselor, lecturer, and author of numerous books related to Biblical Counseling
The issue of same-sex marriage is currently much debated in South Africa. This is partly due to new laws and the difference of opinion between various churches and denominations. The advocates of same-sex marriage are very vocal, often making use of so-called “scientific facts”. The booklet of Mark Christopher gives a new perspective from the other side in an accountable way. Its publication must be welcomed by all asking for a Biblical perspective on such a contentious issue.
—Prof HF van Rooy, Professor of Old Testament, North-West University, Potchefstroom, South Africa
This is a brief, but compelling examination of ‘same-sex marriage’—politely called ‘civil partnership’ in the United Kingdom—from a biblical perspective. It is clear, cogent and written in a good spirit. While being informative itself it has a most valuable bibliography which makes it useful for those who wish to pursue the subject further.
—Paul E Brown, Editor ‘Homosexuality: Christian truth and love’, United Kingdom
Mark Christopher has packed into this book everything that is necessary to put the case for biblical marriage over against perverted sex and distorted interpretations of Scripture when it comes to sexual matters. We are not far down the road to the situation that prevailed in Sodom at the time of Lot and we dare not be found napping on the issue of same-sex marriage. Do we have a response to the daring iniquity of homosexuality? Have we an argument to offer when it comes to the shamelessness of the Gay agenda? This book is compulsory reading if we are going to speak with clarity and authority. Get it and get it quickly and when you do read it promptly. It won’t be long before you realise how important it is know what Mark Christopher has so ably presented and how important it is to know what to say when you need to speak up and be counted!
