I’m writing to you from the peaceful haven of Copperleigh Farm in the KZN Midlands. Just what the doctor ordered! This is a working farm – 400 sheep and 150 cattle – so not entirely quiet, but ever so peaceful after the busyness of city life. This beautiful garden is going to be one of the country’s Open Gardens and can be visited on 3-4th November.
The cottage is new and beautifully appointed, with many additional touches that add delight to the stay. The view from the patio and upstairs veranda is over the dam, which is stocked with trout. This is a perfect setting for the walk-read-eat-sleep-repeat routine to unwind. The big plus – no traffic sounds at all! But at night there is a cacophony – frogs. Lots of them. We identify 4 different sounds before drifting off to sleep while there unrelenting chatter goes on… I want to stay!
