BRIAN H EDWARDS
For every person whose name blazes across the pages of our heritage of history in the large letters of a Tyndale, Bunyan, Wesley, Spurgeon or Lloyd-Jones, there are tens of thousands of ‘little people’ who have courageously and faithfully maintained a stand for the truth and have extended the borders of the Kingdom of God. It is upon these that the Lord builds his church. Fascinating insights from Brian H Edwards in these volumes. Scripture index included in each.
Brian Edwards was the minister of an evangelical church in south west London for almost thirty years. He now has a ministry of writing, lecturing and preaching and is the author of numerous books. He is also the editor of the popular Day One Travel Guide series.
If you can forgive this book its title, it actually deals with some interesting content, examining the stories of some of the well-known women of the Bible, and introducing us to some of the lesser-known. Phoebe’s chapter makes interesting reading, particularly if, like me, she has never been brought to your attention before! The chapter on Hannah would particularly appeal to those who struggle with childlessness – and to mothers. GoodBookStall Review – 18/01/07 – Samantha Luscombe
