In our modern world, where a few hours on an aircraft can take us to the other side of our planet, it is hard to imagine the pioneering spirit of those men, women & children in the 17th Century who set sail in creaky ships for the New World of America. The motivation for many was the vision of an uninhibited walk with Christ in a society founded on the principles of Scripture. The vision was harder to make into reality than they expected, but their efforts were not without fruit and their story still thrills and surprises in equal measure.
About the Author
Ian Cooper is the Pastor of Tollgate Evangelical Church in Redhill, Sussex, UK where he has ministered for 20 years. He was formerly a Police Sergeant in the Wiltshire Constabulary. He is married to Jacky and they have two married daughters. Ian is a member of the Day One Council and conducts tours of the Biblical artefacts in the British Museum.
